Chinonso Emeka joins Gent, signs first Professional contract
Chinonso Emeka, Water FC of Abuja sensation has signed his first professional contract as he joins Gent in Belgium first division.
The former Nigerian youth international who’s been hyped across several media outlets was announced by the club alongside fellow countryman Adewale Oladoye.
The club announced the signing of the two players with an undisclosed fee paid to their parent club Water FC in Abuja.
Scoring goals for fun, Emeka Chinonso was compared to some of the biggest stars of world football last year as the most prolific attacker behind this player.
At his age, he was considered the hottest as he scored goals and provided important assist which triggered Gent to make a quick move for him.
The signing of Emeka Chinonso and what it means for Gent
Dubbed one of the fastest rising and prolific attacker, Chinonso has been targeted as one whom all attaching duties would soon be handed to.
Although this may not come as soon as possible, he would be a valuable asset for Gent in the nearest future.
The season, the club have struggled to keep up, which could see them miss out on the Championship playoffs at the end of the season.
But this move might as well be seen as the wisest move ahead of the upcoming season. Gent would have more options up front with the recent signing of this incredible goalscorer.
At the national team level, he represented the Nigerian Olympic side during the 2019 All African games and his exploits during the games speak for him.
