Cyriel Dessers confirms Genk stay amid exit rumours amid concerns of an exit at the end of the current season.
Genk and Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers has confirmed he would remain at Genk amid exit rumours after a poor start to life at the Belgian club.
Since the start of the season, Cyriel Dessers had only played as a second fiddle but was able to score a surprise goal in the Belgian Pro League playoffs against Anderlecht.
About his status as a second fiddle at Genk, Dessers still not ruling out the fact he would remain the second choice even though he had scored an important goal against Anderlecht.
“Yes, I doubted my future at KRC Genk “, “And I cannot say that those doubts have now disappeared with that one goal. At the moment it is also of little use to go deeper into my future”, the Nigerian attacker added.
For now the 26-year old is focused on helping Genk through the season’s Championship Playoffs.
“I will see what will happen in the summer, a lot will also depend on what will happen with the other players”.
Despite these doubts about his future with the club, there’s still a strong belief he will remain with the club beyond next season.
