En route to the final, Croatia waited for an extra time masterclass to book their ticket through goals from Bruno Petković and Luka Modrić.
La Roja, on the other hand, earned a hard-fought win over Italy to book their ticket. Yeremy Pino scored three minutes from kickoff, and Ciro Immobile converted from the spot to put the game on level terms before Joselu scored the winner two minutes to the end of regulation time.
