Chelsea’s bid to strengthen its squad has got them a new transfer target. The goalkeeper from AC Milan, Mike Maignan, has been ranked among the best in the world lately.

The Londoners, according to Fichajes, is now one of the top priorities at the club.

Although Chelsea has some good goalkeepers, they must strengthen the backline. Also, the doubts about Robert Sánchez are a reason for the club’s interest in Mike Maignan.

Robert Sánchez joined Chelsea in the summer and has now assumed the number-one goalie position at the club, especially as Kepa left on loan to Real Madrid.

A decision for the 2024/2025 transfer window

Chelsea would try to sign Mike Maignan in the summer of 2024. However, this doesn’t look easy, especially as AC Milan has built its team around the French goalkeeper.

Fichajes reveals the 28-year-old goalkeeper is close to extending his contract with the club until the summer of 2028, which could ultimately alter Chelsea’s plans for the player.

That said, his future at AC Milan is uncertain, and a last-minute move could happen in the unpredictable transfer market.
