Following a torrid season in the Premier League, Chelsea will be back in action from July in preparation for next season. The Blues finished 12th on the league table.

Argentine tactician Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed to take charge of the team from next season—the 51-year-old previously managed Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea FC vs Wrexham FC

Date: Wednesday, July 19th, 2023

Venue: Kenan Memorial Stadium, Chapel Hill, North Carolina 

Ryan Reynolds has lined up a series of test games for the newly promoted Football League team in the United States, which includes against Chelsea. 

The Red Dragons are in the EFL League Two next season following their triumph in the National League in the previous campaign.

As part of the 2023 Soccer Champions Tour, Chelsea will play Wrexham FC in North Carolina at Kenan Memorial Stadium. 

The stadium has a seating capacity 50,500 and is currently used for NCAA games by North Carolina Football.

Chelsea FC vs Brighton Hove Albion

Date: Friday, July 22nd, 2023

Venue: Lincoln Financial Field

The Blues will meet the high-flying Seagulls at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The stadium has a seating capacity of 67,594 and is home to Philadelphia Eagles and Temple Owls football.

Brighton Hove Albion was among the most in-form teams in the English Premier League. The Seagulls also qualified for the Europa League next season.

The last time the pair met was on April 15, as Brighton earned a 2-1 win over the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC vs Newcastle United

Date: Wednesday, 26th July 2023

Venue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

In Atlanta, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will tackle Newcastle United in the club’s third test game in the United States. The Blues faces a formidable opponent in the Magpies, who had recorded a significant rise lately.

Newcastle United finished fourth at the end of last season to book a place in the UEFA Champions League and returned to European football for the first time since the 2011/12 season.

The match will take place at the 71,000-capacity multi-purpose Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. The stadium is home to local teams Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and MLS side Atlanta United.

Chelsea FC vs Fulham FC

Date: July 30th, 2023

Venue: FedExField, Summerfield, Maryland.

Chelsea faces another familiar foe, Fulham, in the third game of the fourth game. The Cottagers have been a formidable opponent lately, especially with the guidance of Marco Silva.

Fulham earned promotion to play in the Premier League 2022–23 season and successfully cemented their place for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign.

The two London rivals will meet at FedEx Field in Landover. It has a capacity of 62,000 and is home to NFL-side Washington Commanders.

Chelsea FC vs Borussia Dortmund

Date: August 3rd, 2023

Venue: Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois.

Chelsea will wrap up their pre-season tour with a final test match against Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at Soldier Field. 

The pair have met regularly in European football competitions, especially in the Champions League. The previous meeting went in favour of the Blues, who earned a 2-1 aggregate win over the Yellow Wall in the UCL Round of 16 on the 7th of March.

The match will be played at the Soldier Field. It has a seating capacity of 61,500 and is home to the Chicago Bears of the NFL and the Chicago Fire of the MLS.
