Chelsea could invest €15m on potential Kepa replacement Djordje Petrovic
Chelsea are now accelerating the replacement of Kepa Arrizabalaga following his departure to Real Madrid on loan. The Premier League side looks like they could invest another 12 million euros before the end of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea has already made some significant signings in the summer, including the arrival of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and Nicolas Jackson. But Kepa’s exit means they’ll need a suitable replacement at all costs.
Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed, according to Fichajes.com, Djordje Petrovic is expected to sign for Chelsea this summer.
One of the reasons the club wants to sign the Serbian was the departure of former first-team goalie Édouard Mendy to Saudi Arabia. And now Kepa Arrizabalaga also followed suit but would return at the end of the season.
Although the club has signed Robert Sánchez, the club wants another reliable goalkeeper to serve as a backup for the former Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper.
At Stamford Bridge, the decision has been made to Djordje Petrovic, the 23-year-old Serbian goalkeeper who plays for New England Revolution in the MLS.
Chelsea are considering a total package worth 15 million euros, but it would increase depending on other variables of the agreement between the club and the MLS side.
According to statistics, Djordje Petrovic has played 22 games for New England Revolution this season and could make a return to Europe.
