Amiens and Toulouse FC managed to get align with the Council of State following the LFP’s decision to change the promotion and relegate of the last two teams.. The body left the LFP the opportunity to review its copy and thus set up a Ligue 1 with 22 teams. However, this should not be the case. Already on Friday, the board of directors of the League expressed itself in favour of a Ligue 1 with 20 teams. At its general meeting on Tuesday, the LFP will act on this decision as explained by L’Equipe.
The future agreement for the 2020/2024 period, which reports on a Ligue 1 to 20 teams, will be submitted to the assembly of the federation on Friday.
If Amiens and Toulouse are opposed to this decision, this is not the case for the other clubs which do not want to share the TV rights with two additional teams, but also to increase the calendar. Amiens certainly stressed that the abolition of the League Cup could allow the establishment of four more matches, but was not listened to.
