Carlo Ancelotti heaps praise on Kylian Mbappé after Real Madrid loss to PSG
Real Madrid had already lost to PSG, but Carlo Ancelotti admits the Superiority of Kylian Mbappé, who’s been subject to unending speculation about a move to the Spanish giants.
Mbappé was a sensation and the architect behind Paris Saint-Germain’ victory over Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes in the first leg tie of the Champions League round of 16.
Although Real Madrid players were good on the night, a couple of mistakes were more than enough for Kylian Mbappé to capitalise in most cases leading to dangerous attacks and eventually to lead to the winner in the end.
Ancelotti began his speech by talking about his players’ mistakes and the improvements that were expected to be made.
“We have decided not to go out too much under pressure and have the block low. And we have defended well, but with the ball, we have suffered”, said Ancelotti as per El Pais.
The coach also had some complaints which he made in the press conference.
“Too conservative means that Courtois takes the ball long, but we have always tried it from behind. I agree that in the lower block, we should have been more aggressive, but we haven’t taken a conservative approach. We had two players warned, and they both fell. Those two yellow cards seemed like gifts to me”.
But Carlo Ancelotti has praised Kylian, who’s yet to renew his current contract with PSG, which is expected to end in June this year.
Yes, he is unstoppable; he is the best in Europe. We have tried to control him, Militão has done very well, but he can always invent something, and he has done it at the last minute”.
Real Madrid has the second leg tie to turn around the fixture or faces another early exit from the competition. The Los Blancos are the most successful team in the competition’s history, with over thirteen trophies.
