Cardiff City face off with Colchester United at Cardiff City Stadium in the First round of the Carabao Cup. City are looking to surpass last season’s First round elimination by Portsmouth FC.

Cardiff City gave away a two-goal lead in the first half as Leicester City came from behind to secure a draw in the Championship opener on Sunday.

Ahead of the clash, The Bluebirds will look at a change to tactics and work on the defence following the lacklustre performance at the King Power stadium.

Colchester United, on the other hand, will be looking to go beyond the second round this time following their exit from the Carabao Cup last season against EPL side Brentford FC.

United earned a 2-1 win over Leyton Orient in a pre-season friendly and are yet to get into action in the new season following the postponement of their opening game against Swims Town.
