The German Bundesliga is the top tier of professional football in Germany contested by over 18 teams from various states across the German federal republic.
The notable household name whenever the Bundesliga is mentioned is Bayern Munich. Although Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart, SV Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV, Borussia Monchengladbach were once top challengers.
The German league was established in 1903 but was replaced by the Bundesliga in the year 1964 according to Wikipedia. It was suspended from 1915 to 1919 due to World War I and again from 1945 to 1947 due to World War II.

3. Borussia Dortmund – 5 Titles
