Italy has some of the most beautiful stadiums globally, even though some would believe some stadia are old fashioned. In every country, the culture and trends are quite different.

 

When it comes to Italian football, it appears clubs spend heavily on players than on infrastructure. However, this trend has changed as clubs have begun working on existing infrastructure by either upgrading, installing or making some adjustments to already obsolete ones.

 

 

There are beautiful and outstanding soccer stadiums in Italy, these can be found in clubs in the Série A.

 

The Série A is one of the most competitive soccer leagues and has consistently ranked amongst the top five globally. Some of the most vibrant teams in the country are Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, AS Roma, Fiorentina, etc.

10. Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino – 27,958

The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino (Olympic Grande Torino Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Turin with a seating capacity of 27,958.

 

The stadium currently serves as the home ground for Serie A club Torino Football Club. UEFA now rates it as a Category 4 stadium.

 

The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino has four stands, namely the Curva Maratona, Curva Primavera, Distinti Est and Distinti Ovest.

 

9. Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi – 31,045

The Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi is a multi-use arena in Verona. It used to host rugby matches, athletics events and music concerts.

 

The stadium is the eighth largest stadium in Italy, with a seating capacity of 31,045. It was one of the venues for the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

 

8. Stadio Luigi Ferraris – 36,599

The Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris, also known as the Marassi, is a multi-use stadium in Genoa, which is currently home to Genoa C.F.C. and U.C. Sampdoria of the Italian Serie A. It holds 36,599 seats.

 

Stadio Luigi Ferraris opened in 1911, is one of the oldest stadiums still in use for football and other sports in Italy. It hosted other sporting activities like rugby and, in some cases, concerts.

 

7. Stadio Arechi – 37,800

The Arechi Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Salerno, home ground for U.S. Salernitana 1919. It has a seating capacity of 37,800.

 

6. Juventus Stadium (Allianz Arena) – 41,507

The Juventus Stadium, currently known as Allianz Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is an all-seater football stadium in the city of Turin

 

With a seating capacity of 41,507, the Juventus Stadium is ranked sixth in Italy. Since Juventus took the bold step to make an overall of the stadium in 2011, it became one of the few modern sporting facilities and club-owned stadiums in the country.

 

A UEFA Category 4 allows it to host UEFA football competitions. Juventus spent heavily to upgrade the technical facilities thus, justifying UEFA’s accreditation of the stadium.

 

The stadium hosted the 2014 UEFA Europa League Final and the 2021 UEFA Nations League Finals.

 

As we said earlier, the Juventus Stadium is one of Italy’s most modern clubs. It was upgraded to a standard level with more facilities. A total of €155 million was spent.

 

There’s good news for Juventus fans across the globe who are gearing up for their first visit or preparing for the next stop. There’s what is called the ‘Juventus Premium Club’.

 

The stadium includes premium seats, skyboxes, exclusive restaurants, bars, lounges, finger food at half time and after the game, reserved parking, access to the museum. The stadium includes a shopping complex open every day and parking space for vehicles.

 

Other services include a stadium Tour where fans will be treated as expected. Also, there’s a shopping mall, museum and particular medical centre owned and controlled by the club.

 

5. Stadio Artemio Franchi – 43,147

The Stadio Artemio Franchi, located in the beautiful city of Florence, is one of the biggest football stadiums in Italy. It has a capacity of 43,147 and is owned by the Municipality of Florence.

 

The Stadio Artemio Franchi is the home ground for ACF Fiorentina of the Italian Serie A.

 

The stadium was selected as one of the venues for the 1934 World Cup, as well as football preliminaries for the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.

 

Florence, a famous city in Europe, consistently attracts visitors from all over the world, and the Stadio Artemio Franchi is also part of the reason for many visits. The stadium can host concerts and Tours.

Tenants Napoli have enjoyed playing at the stadium. The club currently holds the Serie C record after recording 51,000 fans in their season’s final game.

 

The stadium has gone through a series of renovations. It has hosted major competitions, including the 1990 World Cup and the 2019 Summer Universiade.

 

Napoli constantly attracts fans worldwide thanks to the capacity of the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

 

The stadium was formerly known as Stadio San Paolo before the name change in 2020, regarding club legend and Argentine footballer Diego Armando Maradona which the City Council passed.

 

3. Stadio San Nicola – 58,270

The Stadio San Nicola is a multi-use, all-seater stadium in Italy with 58,270 seats. It is home to S.S.C. Bari.

The stadium was one of the venues for the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

The Stadio Olimpico is the largest sports facility in Rome and the second-largest football stadium in Italy with over 70,000 spectators.

 

The Stadio Olimpico is the National Stadium of Italy and is also home ground for Série A clubs AS Roma and Lazio. It is also the venue for the Coppa Italia Finals.

 

The stadium was built in 1927 but was officially opened in 1953 and have since gone through a series of renovation. It is currently on the UEFA Category 4, which allows it to host UEFA football competitions.

 

The Stadio Olimpico is a multi-sports stadium and has hosted several sporting events, including the 1960 Summer Olympics, 1974 European Athletics Championships, 1990 FIFA World Cup, 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, etc.

 

Taking a drive around the city of Rome, the Stadio Olimpico is located in Viale dei Gladiatori, Rome, Italy.

 

Apart from football, it is one of the hubs in the country that is used for music concerts, Tours by Italian and international artists.

The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, commonly known as the San Siro, is the largest football stadium in Italy. It has a capacity of 80,018 seats and constantly attracts fans from all over Milan, Italy, from Europe.

 

The San Siro is the home of A.C. Milan and Internazionale. The two sides have permanently occupied the stadium since 1947–present, although AC Milan were the previous occupants from 1926 to 1941.

 

San Siro was selected as one of the venues for the 1934 and 1990 FIFA World Cups. It was also chosen for the UEFA European Championship in 1980.

 

Added by UEFA to its Category 4 list, the stadium has hosted several UEFA Champions League finals. Other sporting activities like boxing and rugby union have been hosted there.

 

Milan, one of the most famous cities globally, has constantly attracted people of interest from all over the world. The San Siro has been used for music concerts and Tours since 1980.
