Benzema speaks out: “I want to play on Sunday” as he eyes the Osasuna clash
Karim Benzema has expressed his desire to play for the Los Blancos as he returns from injury when the team will take on CA Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.
The Frenchman had to sit out for three consecutive games for the Los Blancos and was given the go-ahead to return to training Wednesday.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Benzema wants to play in the next La Liga fixture on Sunday, speaking to Real Madrid TV.
”I have seen the team very well, perfect. I have seen them full of victories, goals and character. We have a great team although it can be said that we have two teams. There is no difference between the people who start the game and those who enter with the game already started. I see the team very well ”, he highlighted. Said Benzema (via Mundo Deportivo obtained from Real Madrid TV).
“I have done a lot of physical work. I have not touched the ball. Today was my first training. These days I did a lot of running and strength inside the facilities. I also trained at home. I arrived a little late from the holidays and I didn’t have much time to do a good preseason. That’s why I’ve done it now and I feel very good”
Ready for the challenge
“We have to continue. In our heads we know that we have to win every game. All games are important. All the teams want to beat Real Madrid, but we’re fine and ready to continue”.
Real Madrid is top of the league with eighteen points from six games, with the French striker as the leading centre forward in the team.
In his absence, Ancelotti had to experiment with using Hazard as the new centre forward but switched to the trio of Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Fede Valverde instead.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are exploring the possibility of signing Fede Valverde from Real Madrid next summer.
