German footballer Benjamin Henrichs would remain with RB Leipzig beyond this season amid uncertainties surrounding his future at the club even as head coach Domenico Tedesco expresses the desire to work with the German.
Henrichs began his career at Leipzig under former Coach Jesse Marsch as a substitute, only to be made a regular with the arrival of Domenico Tedesco. The 24-year old whose contract with the club comes to an end in 2025 had doubts about his future with the Saxony based club.
However, a turnaround at the moment had already eliminated the concerns of a possible exit from the club.
“Benni is important to us because he lets us breathe,” says RB coach Domenico Tedesco as published by Rblive.
The talks of a potential loan move in January is expected to go away with the statements from the coach. For the former German Olympic squad member in Tokyo, more success expected to come his way.
‘It’s a very difficult situation and not what I imagined. The reality is that I work hard on myself and train well, and the coach confirms that,” says Benjamin Henrichs.
He also stressed the need for a change if the situation at the club refuses to change.
“I can fully identify with Leipzig as a whole, I’m happy here, but you have to think about how things will continue. I don’t want to change, but I want to play football,” he added.
