Bayern Munich has begun a desperate search for a perfect replacement for David Alaba who is on the verge of leaving the club probably in January or next summer transfer window for free after months of contract extension talks.
The Austrian appears to head for the exit door as things stand currently since his current club Bayern are unwilling to listen to his demands through his representatives.
But the Bavarian club instead wants to look elsewhere for defenders younger than Alaba. Bayern Munich is currently interested in Dayot Upamecano and Lukas Klostermann.
According to an exclusive report by Fussball Transfers, Bayern Munich was in contact with Leipzig last summer, but the club opted to extend Dayot Upamecano’s contract since it was too expensive for Bayern Munich to sign him at that time.
But right now, the French defender will cost Bayern over 42 million euros for a transfer from Leipzig. Lukas Klostermann who is also a first-team member at RB Leipzig is also another top target according to Fussball Transfers.
The German defender is expected to cost Bayern 40 million euros and if Benjamin Pavard would be deployed to central defense.
