Barcelona willing to pay 60 million euros for Uruguayan midfielder Fabricio Diaz
Barcelona is closing on the signing of Fabricio Diaz for a reported fee of 60 million euros. The Uruguayan midfielder is regarded as one of the most important players they could sign ahead of next season.
The 20-year-old midfielder played a significant role during the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina, which Uruguay won by beating Italy in the final. His performance during the tournament has drawn interest from Barcelona’s top hierarchy, who has identified him as one of the solutions to the midfield.
Recently, the Blaugrana announced the arrival of former Manchester City captain Ilkay Gündoğan as one of the reinforcements for next season, and perhaps, Fabricio Diaz could be the next player on the list of signs.
According to Fichajes, Barcelona is expected to close an agreement with his parent club Liverpool Montevideo in the next few days.
