Barcelona plan Memphis Depay departure with Marcelo Brozovic transfer decision
Atletico Madrid confirmed Memphis Depay signing on Friday after months of rumours surrounding the player’s future at Camp Nou. And now, Barcelona has already begun searching for a suitable replacement for the Dutchman.
According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t) Fichajes, Barcelona plans to sign Inter Milan defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozovic as Xavi Hernandez wants to continue with the team’s success lately. The report from Mundo Deportivo indicates the Blaugrana also have a formula they would use to convince the Croatian to join the club.
Although the club does not want to make a hasty decision, they’re not giving up on the option of signing Brozovic. The object right now is to have a quality team that would allow for a squad rotation and Xavi Hernandez believes the Inter Milan star would bring the quality the club desires.
How Barcelona plans for Marcelo Brozovic’s transfer
The departure of Memphis Depay has created a vacuum in the team and hence the need for re-enforcement. But the economic situation at the club will prevent any movement in the market.
So, Barcelona will try to sign Marcelo Brozovic initially on loan from Inter Milan with the further option to buy.
There are already talks he could be the player to take up the role of Sergio Busquets next season which shows the optimism in Barcelona regarding the player’s arrival at the club.
