Barcelona had a meeting with the representative of Ivan Fresneda with hopes of signing the promising left-back
There are promising signs in Barcelona’s pursuit of the youngster with the recent meeting between the club’s top hierarchy and that of the player.
The Blaugrana are considering the possibility of signing the right-back from Real Valladolid, especially since the club’s relegation to the second division.
According to Marca (h/t Fichajes), Barcelona sees Ivan Fresneda as a quality addition to the team, with the 18-year-old having a release clause worth 28 million euros.
Real Valladolid could let the player leave in the summer if a good offer arrives, especially due to the club’s economic situation.
But Barcelona is not alone in the purse of the player. A year ago, Atletico Madrid were at the forefront of signing the player. But negotiations were unsuccessful as he opted to accept a new, improved contract from the club.

Recently, the Rojiblancos have stated their interest in him, especially as Real Valladolid suffered relegation to the second division. And apart from Atletico Madrid’s interest, Borussia Dortmund and AFC Bournemouth have shown interest in the player lately.
Although moving to Germany may not be an option for the youngster, the possibility of moving to the English Premier League is gaining strength, as per Fichajes, who revealed a Bournemouth offer Fresneda was rejected.
Despite the role of Real Valladolid in the transfer, Ivan Fresneda would like to decide on his future.
