The Uruguayan international is currently under heavy praise after helping Atlético Madrid lift the Spanish La Liga title.

Club president Énrique Cerézo heaps praise on Luis Suarez even as the club plans for a long term future with the former Barcelona hitman.

Suárez scored Atlético Madrid’s winning goal in the 67th minute on the road at Real Valladolid to hand the club another title after a seven-year.

“A great player, a great person and a great goalscorer,” said Énrique Cerézo Atlético Madrid club president.

The heroics had further pushed the club to consider a long term fan with Suárez who was ruled as an ideal option at FC Barcelona.

“There should be an extension. It just depends on him whether he wants to continue or not. ”

The player’s contract with the club expires next year.

Speaking after the game, Suárez was full of emotions.

“Barcelona didn’t appreciate me anymore. Atlético opened its doors for me to give me a chance. I will always be grateful to this association for trusting me.” he added.
