Atlético Madrid eyes Marcus Thuram and Enes Ünal as João Felix’s replacement

The mattress team has already begun scouting for a suitable replacement for their wantaway star. Fichajes are reporting Atletico Madrid have identified Frenchman Marcus Thuram and Enes Ünal as a replacement for João Felix.

Diego Simeone, as cited by Goal, had revealed the club had moved on from João Felix. The Argentine began this by omitting the Portuguese forward in his squad that won against CD Arenteiro in Copa del Rey’s second round.

In Madrid, the club knows the player’s departure is imminent and wants a suitable replacement from the money that would be accrued from the sale of the player.

The two João Felix replacement

Marcus Thuram

Marcus Thuram has been outstanding for Borussia Monchengladbach. The French forward was also one of France’s best players in the World Cup final loss to Argentina.

Atletico Madrid are expecting around 100 million euros in the sale of Felix and are willing to spend some on the French forward. Thuram, whose contract ends in the summer, could join the Madrid-based club.

Enes Ünal

Enes Ünal is one of the best players at Getafe and could fit Atletico Madrid’s style. The Turkish forward was once a household name in Spanish football and has what it takes to succeed.
