AS: Galatasaray insisting on Sergio Ramos
Galatasaray is the leading destination for Sergio Ramos after the Spaniard became a free agent in the summer. The 37-year-old departed Paris Saint-Germain and has been without a club ever since.
The Real Madrid legend has made it clear he wants to continue playing top-level football, and Galatasaray would provide such as the team close in on Champions League qualification.
Last season, Ramos was one of the key players at Paris Saint-Germain even though injuries forced him to the sidelines. Statistics show he played 45 games for the Parisians.
Following his exit from the French club, rumours about a potential move to Saudi Arabia surfaced. However, his wish remains to play top-level football in Europe.
According to the Spanish Newspaper AS via Fichajes, Sergio Ramos has received an offer from Galatasaray as the Turkish giants are building an ambitious project.
Talks between the two parties have begun and are gradually getting to an advanced stage. With the transfer market slowly winding down, a transfer is expected to be announced towards the end of the window.
As Galatasaray edges closer to qualifying for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, his services would be invaluable in September when the group stages begin.
