AS: Benzema to earn €1m from Real Madrid following Balon d’Or success
French forward Karim Benzema is expected to earn an additional €1m from Real Madrid, which was part of the clause on his contract. The 32-year-old had the clause for the bonus if he won the Balon d’Or award during his time at the club.
According to the Spanish Newspaper AS, as relayed by Fichajes.com, Benzema would earn an additional €1m due to his emergence amid competition from Sadio Mané.
On Monday evening, in an event held in France, Karim Benzema emerged winner of the 19th Balon d’Or award to become the eighth Real Madrid player to win the award.
Last season, he scored fifty goals in fifty games, winning four major trophies, including the UCL La Liga and Super Cup.
