Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out the possibility of having Thibaut Courtois in goal for the Los Angeles ahead of the clash with Elche.
The Belgian has been sidelined for a while with Andriy Lunín in goal for the club including last Sunday’s El Clásico clash with Barcelona.
Speaking during a press conference ahead of the league clash with Elche, the Italian manager ruled out the possibility of having Courtois in goal.
“He’s not ready for tomorrow, but he’s training normally. His work is normal, he will play on Saturday”.
Ancelotti sees the quality in the Ukrainian goalkeeper and isn’t worried about the imminent return of the Thibaut Courtois. However, the Belgian is expected to return to full fitness ahead of the World Cup next month.
Real Madrid are top of the Spanish La Liga table with twenty five points, two points ahead of rivals Barcelona after nine rounds. The Los Blancos are undefeated across all competitions.
A convincing result against Elche would be favourable for the Los Blancos as the Spanish top flight is headed for a pause as the World Cup inches closer.
