Alvaro Rodríguez (Castilla) star shines in Real Madrid debut against CA Osasuna
Real Madrid had an outstanding performance in their fight for the LaLiga title against Osasuna on the road. The Los Blancos handed Alvaro Rodríguez a chance to taste first-team football as the Uruguayan provided an assist in his debut appearance for the club.
The first half ended in a deadlock as both teams failed to penetrate each other. However, a five-star performance in the second half was enough to hand Los Blancos the maximum points courtesy of goals from Marco Asensio and Fede Valverde.
Álvaro Rodríguez, who plays as a forward for Real Madrid Castilla, was introduced into the game by Carlo Ancelotti in the 87th for Rodrygo Goes. His first contribution was providing an assist for Vinicius Junior’s goal that was chopped off due to the Video Assistant Referee’s decision.
But the Uruguayan youth player continued to press forward and was eventually the provider of the assist for Marco Asensio’s goal that increased Real Madrid’s lead in the game to two goals.
At the end of the game, Carlo Ancelotti praised the performance of the Real Madrid player as per Bernabéu digital.
“He is a player who has many qualities. He’s tall, he handles the ball well, he’s great with his head. He can help us like today. It’s not easy to join Madrid when you’re young and focused. He made the difference in ten minutes. He’s going to help us this season, I’m convinced”, the Italian tactician said at the press conference.
