Akwa United FC takes on fellow Stateside Dakkada FC formerly known as Akwa Starlets at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in the NPFL’s first derby of 2020/2021.
The promise keepers as they popularly known headed by Mr Paul Bassey are playing for pride and are expected to get the best result of the game after making several signings including veteran Mfon Udoh, who rejoined the side again for the new season.
Akwa United form wasn’t great as it was expected after yet again, a big number of signings across Africa.
Akwa United game against Dakkada was postponed from its original date as a result of logistics concerns. The Television network had issues with their broadcast equipment arriving in Uyo for the live broadcast of the game.

The two teams are meeting for the first time this season, all eyes are on them since it’s a derby game, a battle for supremacy.
Dakkada’s performance since they gained promotion to the elite division has been one of best compared to Akwa United, who’s been in the top flight for a couple of years.

United made over five signings including major names like Mfon Udoh. Also, NPFL famous coach Kennedy Boboye was appointed to take charge of the side for the new season.
Dakkada recently unveiled a new coach in Umar Danladi and there are high hopes he’ll probably take the club a continental place, judging by the team’s sublime form last season.
Prediction
The two teams are known for their creative style of play, the home side United are used to an attacking football with Mfon Udoh leading upfront.
Dakkada is also a fast side with clinical defenders. The game is expected to be an end to end affair at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
