Graham Potter will aim for a quick double over AC Milan as Chelsea travels to San Siro.

Chelsea will be feeling good about their chances of winning in Milan. The team has won three games in a row in all competitions under Graham Potter’s leadership. The Blues prepared well for the Champions League match at the weekend by picking up three points against a woeful Wolves side.

Milan defeated Juventus by two goals over the weekend, getting back to winning ways. After a disastrous performance upon his return to Chelsea, Fikayo Tomori and Brahim Diaz both scored over the weekend. It would be intriguing to see if that victory will be sufficient to increase their confidence before the second leg against the Blues.

Team News

Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Junior Messias, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria, and Alexis Saelemaekers are just a few numerous Milan players out with injuries.

There shouldn’t be any big surprises in the Milan starting lineup, with Olivier Giroud poised to lead the line with Diaz and Rafael Leao providing support. However, Tommaso Pobega is likely to be left out in the midfield to make room for Rade Krunic to enter the lineup in a more advanced position.

For Chelsea, Mateo Kovacic, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Ben Chilwell are all expected to come back from the lineup that started against Wolves in the league on Saturday.

In central midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek should continue in his position, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been playing well recently, is expected to stay in goal.

Prediction

AC Milan 1-1 Chelsea

Graham Potter, Chelsea’s new manager, has the team on the upswing, and Tuesday should see more of the same. Milan’s injury problems make it impossible for Pioli to select his ideal starting lineup. Although they may have defeated Juventus, they may struggle against Chelsea because it would be a different challenge. A draw seems the likely outcome.
