Playing career
Santos FC
Robinho grew to become an outstanding player at Santos when he was picked up by Brazilian football legend Pele. He was brilliant in the team and showcased his skills in the team. He helped the club to win the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2002.
In the following season, Robinho helped Santos to reach the Copa Libertadores final in 2003. In 2004, he won a second title at Santos following the Campeonato Brasileiro triumph. He scored 21 goals.
Robinho also scored another nine goals for Santos in the domestic league before heading for European football giants Real Madrid.
Real Madrid
Following an outstanding performance in Brazilian domestic football, Robinho moved to Real Madrid.
In Spain, he quickly grabbed attention by scoring up to fourteen goals in his first season wearing the famous number 10 jersey at the club. He continued with his impressive form in his second season at Real Madrid and helped the club to lift the La Liga title.

Manchester City

International career
Robinho played for Brazil at the international level. He was part of the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup squad and was on target at the tournament.
He became a regular player on the team and eventually played in the World Cup qualifying game with the team. He was shortlisted for the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, which Brazil won.
