Barcelona could be one the best teams in the world with a good record, but they have also recorded some of the biggest losses.
The Catalan club has been outstanding in the Spanish top flight since 1925 and has also competed in domestic competitions.
Some of Barcelona worst defeats include the 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UCL. Others are Sevilla CF (8-0), and Athletic Club Bilbao CF (12-1).

5. Barcelona 2-8 FC Bayern Munich (2020)
This was arguably one of the worst defeats in the history of Barcelona in the 21st century as they bowed to the Bavarians at Camp Nou.
The fixture involving the Catalan club was a quarter-final clash in the UEFA Champions League, heavily dominated by Bayern Munich.
Spanish tactician Quique Setién was in charge of the team on the day. He lost the game heavily despite having some of the best names, including Suarez, Messi, and ter Stegen.
4. Sevilla 8-0 FC Barcelona (1946)
Barcelona’s biggest loss yet and the third against Sevilla. The Catalan club conceded eight goals in the first leg of the round of 16 in the Copa del Rey.
It was a difficult day for Barcelona as two players (Vicente Colino and José Bravo) were shown the red as the Blaugrana ended the game with nine players.
Josep Samitier was in charge of the team as they conceded eight goals (two in the first half and six in the second half).
3. Sevilla 11-1 FC Barcelona (1940)
Barcelona suffered an embarrassing defeat at Sevilla for the second time. They conceded eleven goals at the end of the game.
The fixture was the opening day of the 1940-41 La Liga season. The Blaugrana conceded four goals in the first.
José Valle opened the scoring for Barcelona ten minutes after kickoff before Rafael Berrocal brought the game to level terms. The encounter became one-sided until the end.
2. Real Madrid 11-1 Barcelona (1943)
Real Madrid was the second team to hand Barcelona their worst defeat in history. The Los Blancos scored eleven goals against the visitors to finish the game on high.
Real Madrid opened scoring five minutes after kickoff and continued to score until the eleventh goal before the visitors got a consolation goal minutes before the end of the game.
The fixture was a second-leg tie of the 1943 Copa del Rey tournament. The visitors ended the game with ten players as Benito García was sent off in the first half.
1. Athletic Club Bilbao 12:1 Barcelona (1931)
Barcelona’s biggest loss in La Liga club’s history was the 12-1 loss to Athletic Club Bilbao. The Catalan club had reduced the deficit ten minutes into the first half after the host had gone two goals ahead eight minutes.
The fixture was round ten of the 1931-32 La Liga season. James Bellamy was in charge of the team that recorded the worst defeat in the club’s history
