It has been confirmed Chelsea have already had an agreement with Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam to sign Duth-Moroccan footballer Hakim Ziyech for a fee valued to be around €44M to €45M Euros.
Hakim Ziyech is arguably Ajax best midfielder in the past one year or so. Ziyech showed to the rest of the world, what he was made up of most especially during the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League were Ajax stunned Real Madrid in the knockout phase.
His move to Chelsea was forth coming, however, looking back at Chelsea’s plan for the future, it seems to club has abandoned it’s plan so quickly.
Chelsea’s plan according to Frank Lampard, the club is looking to get an all youth setup which warranted the sale of some overaged players and the recruitment of more youngsters into the mix.
Chelsea decided to move in for Hakim Ziyech, a 27-year old who is far way beyond the club’s all youth plan. Chances he’ll continue to produce to notch performance looks slim as he’ll soon be in his thirties. Although age doesn’t cut it.
Think of it this way, Ziyech is 27 and the Premier League is a different league entirely compared to the rest of the leagues in Europe. Ajax and PSV are arguably the biggest club’s in the Netherlands.
Ziyech is a heavily over rated player. Would he even last in the Premier League? Yes, his qualities isn’t that bad. This alone prompted Chelsea to make a quick move for him.
Again, why did the top club’s like Man United, Bayern Munich, City, Real Madrid and Barcelona never went for him. If he’s that good, why did these club’s snub him?
Chelsea securing his services isn’t a bad idea. The blues need to work on themselves and compete for glory and with Ziyech set to become a full member of the squad, the manager may get job done much more easier.
