Phillipe Coutinho’s future at the moment is left hanging by the rope, the Barcelona flop have found it hard to settle despite moving elsewhere to find a suitable place to rebuild himself.
Coutinho’s form at Liverpool triggered Barcelona to spend heavily on him with the view of strengthening their squad as they search for the UEFA Champions League title, a trophy they haven’t won in the last couple of years.
Phillipe Coutinho was one of the best attacking midfielders in the world during his stay at Liverpool. But moving to Barca, the Brazilian failed to hit the ground running, leaving the club’s management in frustration.
The only thought was to send him outside so that he can build on himself. However, this isn’t realizable at moment because he has also failed to impress.
Barcelona gave Bayern Munich an option to keep Coutinho on permanent basis valuing the player in the region of €120M. Right now, Bayern Munich board isn’t very much satisfied, instead they’re on the hunt for Leroy Sane at Manchester City who have been linked with a return to Germany since last summer.
Bayern’s interest is on Leroy Sane, there’s no guarantee Coutinho would live up to expectations if Bayern trigger the option to keep him despite Barcelona’s U-turn to reduce the fee to €80M according to Transfermarkt.
Coutinho is unable to perform and there’s no club out there that would keep a player and spend so much on him when he’s unable to deliver.
It looks like Barcelona are not interested in bringing Coutinho back to Spain even as recent reports suggest the Catalans are eyeing possible move for Dortmund hotshot Jadon Sancho.
Coutinho however, has been linked with a move back to Liverpool, the club were he was a king before departing to Barca were his form and value dropped within a twinkle of an eye.
