Borussia Dortmund built a team projected to challenge for the Bundesliga title this season.
At the start of the season, the Black Yellow were able to find their feet, but along the line, the team went off the line.
Dortmund started neatly, however, the team spirit and the squad depth became a huge factor trying to decide how their season would go.
There is a reason why RB Leipzig led the league table for a very long time, and that’s circled around consistency and determination on their path.
Dortmund is team club, everybody have got put in his personal best.
Sacking Lucien Favre at the moment could spell a disastrous season. Favre have been able to manage his team according to the way the rest of the teams in the league play out their game.
Why sacking Lucien Favre could be a bad idea and what should be differently
Any coach who comes in at the moment would find it difficult to get a soft landing. Favre uses man management which hasn’t worked well.
Dortmund’s main problem is just squad depth. With Marco Reus and Julian Brandt already ruled out due to injury, the midfield has already been exposed.
Dortmund’s next step should be making changes to the squad. Favre need to bring in new players that can serve as backup or serve as competitors.
Sacking Lucien Favre right now would be a wrong move and the clubs management should not consider such. Winning the Bundesliga is still open but requires consistency.
