Bayern Munich lead the Bundesliga table with a single point above second placed RB Leipzig who allowed the Bavarians to overtake them to top after a drop in form at the start of 2020.
Leipzig were enjoying a seven point gap at the top of the league table, but Julian Nagelsmann and his boys couldn’t continue with their excellent form.
Bayern Munich who started their resurgence prior to the winter break came back even more stronger at the resumption of the second stanza to overtake Leipzig to the top spot.
Bayern have won the league title for a record six straight seasons. With current season looking like a change might come, however, it’s still not certain how such change would see the light of the day.
After an indifferent first half of the season, the Bavarians have won six straight matches since the resumption of the second half.
Bayern Munich have nothing to worry about with Lewandowski and Thomas Muller firing well. Kingsley Coman and Phillipe Coutinho are all fit.
Leipzig have had a woeful return to the second stanza. Leading the table for a very long time during the first half was cut short after series of draws and few losses. Leipzig’s chances of overtaking Bayern Munich looks very slim especially the current form of the Bavarians.
Leipzig have Timo Werner to thank as he has been the goal scoring machine in the team. Marcel Sabitzer and Christopher Nkunku have also been instrumental.
Bayern Munich winning the tie would increase the gap to four points between the two sides.
