Hoffeinheim are far from the top five position, however, the team is looking to surpass their current status when the second half of the season commences this weekend.
Esser is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the Bundesliga as Hoffeinheim seek for a better finish.
Hoffeinheim are seventh on the Bundesliga table with 27 points from 17 matches into the season which is far from getting a European spot. Baumann Oliver is the only first team goal keeper available but coach Schreuder Alfred wants to boost his chance of making it to Europe next season.
