Gabriel Barbosa or simply Gabigol, the Man behind Flamengo’s successful outing in the just concluded FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar which they eventually lost to Liverpool in extra time.
The Brazilian scored two late goals in the final of the Copa Libertadores against River Plate to hand the title to the Brazilians. Coming to the Club World Cup, Barbosa alongside Bruno Henrique helped Flamengo to the final.
Barbosa was indeed excellent as Flamengo held Liverpool till extra time and at some point the Brazilians controlled ths game.
Barbosa is on loan from Inter Milan, by contract will expire December 31st which now brings us to ask the question about the stands of the player. Would he return to Inter Milan or remain in Brazil or another loan deal elsewhere?
Gabigol hinted he would love to play for Liverpool if given the chance. But does he meet the requirements to be at Liverpool?
Barbosa career has been marred by lots of loan deals. But the player is a great player, currently flourishing in Flamengo.
Barbosa remaining at Flamengo would help build his career and possibly accelerate his market value. Moving elsewhere wouldn’t be a bad idea, however, moving to the right place remains ideal.
Flamengo could still extend his contract at the club, probably keep him at the club ob permanent basis. If he returns to Inter Milan, he could remain on the bench because Antonio Conte would prefer to start Romelu Lukaku instead.
Barbosa’s best bet is to remain at Flamengo or move elsewhere, a place that would guarantee him regular playing time.
