The Court of Arbitration for Sports has thrown out Manchester City’s appeal of the transfer ban meted on, table m by the Financial Fair Play (FFP) which has put the Cityzens on hot seat as they could be axed from next seasons UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
The Independent reports that CAS statement on the appeal is that the appeal by the Abu Dhabi owned club is inadmissible.
Manchester City will be missing out on champions league football at least for one season If the current judgement stands as it is. However, the Cityzens still have one more chance to clear themselves when the UEFA adjudicatory chamber will take their turn on the matter.
If Manchester qualifies for a Champions League spot and the judgement still stands the way it is, then, the fifth-placed team on the Premier League table at the end of the season will take over from the Cityzens lost spot
Sheffield United could play in the UEFA Champions League next season if they preserve their position on the log and hope for Manchester City’s axe from the Champions League.
