Finland eyeing first Euros in nation’s history

On Friday, Finland could qualify for their first European Championship finals since the country became a UEFA member.


Finland hasn’t qualified for any European Championship and the jinx could be broken if they beat Liechtenstein on Friday.


The Finnish national team has never qualified for the European Championship and the FIFA world in the history of the country.


Finland have notable names playing in the Premier League. Players like Teemu Pukki was blazing hot during the start of the 2019/20 Premier League season. Pukki has been inspiring for Finland throughout the European qualifiers.


The only achievement the country has made on the international level is a third-place finish during the1912 Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden, between 5 May and 22 July 1912.


Could Teemu Pukki Cary his country to the Euros? Pukki alone cannot do the job alone, however, his experience in football could be a useful tool for countries success against Liechtenstein on Friday.


The Finnish football team was in the Olympics in 1952 and 1980 as well.
