It was time for revenge as Napoli relied round within the closing stages of the first half to beat Brescia courtesy goals from Dries Mertens and Kostas Manolas to grab the three points.

Dries Mertens opened scoring for Napoli after José Callejón provided the cool assist for Mertens to tap in for the first goal for the home and 22 minutes later Maksimović provided for Manolas to increase the tally to two goals.

After the match had ended, Napoli’s team doctors tested and confirmed that Nicola Maksimovic had suffered a hamstring injury. The player was forcefully layed off during the second half of the game.

Kostas Manolas on the other hand was also taken off but the news is the defender had some tightness.

Napoli returned from an embarrasing loss at home to visiting Cagliari to dominate the first half, scoring all two goals in the first half to grab all three points.

Napoli got a better start to the UEFA Champions League with an impressive 2-0 win over visiting Premier League side Liverpool.
